14 Days of Joint Efforts Bring TNBTS Forest Fires Under Control


PROBOLINGGO – After 14 days of intensive firefighting efforts, the forest and land fire (Karhutla) in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area has been declared safe, stable, and fully under control.


The operation, which ran from August 3 to August 17, 2026, covered a total affected area of 1,121.66 hectares, with the entire mission completed without any major incidents.


Commander of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya, Colonel Inf Wahyu Ramadhanus Suryawan, S.Sos., M.M.S., M.Han., who also served as Sector Commander for the Karhutla Response in the Korem 083/Bdj region, stated that the successful operation was the result of strong cross-sector collaboration. 


The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), Provincial and four Regency BPBDs, TNBTS management, BMKG, relevant government agencies, volunteers, local communities, and the media worked together by combining personnel, equipment, expertise, and information to bring the wildfire under control.  :::
