Korem 083/Bdj Celebrates Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day with Festive Competitions

 

Malang, August 20, 2026 — A joyful atmosphere marked the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Brawijaya Rampal Field on Thursday (August 20, 2026).


Commander of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya, Colonel Inf. Wahyu Ramadhanus Suryawan, S.Sos., M.M.S., M.Han., personally attended and officially opened the series of competitions together with the extended family of Korem 083/Bdj.


Various traditional Independence Day competitions, including flour relay races, sarong races, cracker-eating contests, straw relay races, tug-of-war, and tennis-ball dance competitions, were held in a lively and festive atmosphere.


The activities served not only as entertainment but also as a means of strengthening togetherness and solidarity among military personnel, civil servants, and the extended family of Korem 083/Bdj.


Danrem emphasized that the competitions were not merely about winning, but also provided an opportunity to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and esprit de corps.


> “These competitions are not simply about determining the winners. Winning or losing is not the most important thing. What matters most is that we become more united and solid as one big family of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya,” he said.




In addition to opening the competitions, Danrem also presented gifts to representatives of Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civil Servants as a token of appreciation for their dedication and loyalty in supporting the unit’s duties.


The event was also attended by the Chief of Staff of Korem 083/Bdj, the Chairwoman of Persit KCK Koorcab Rem 083 PD V/Brawijaya and its management, section chiefs, the Chief of Staff’s staff, as well as all military personnel, civil servants, and the extended family of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya.


The spirit of togetherness created through the event is expected to further strengthen the solidarity of the Korem 083/Bdj family in carrying out their service and dedication to the nation and state.
