Protecting Bromo: Danrem 083/Baladhika Jaya Monitors Forest Fire Handling Efforts

 

Probolinggo – The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area holds significant value for the environment, local communities, and tourism. Therefore, efforts to address forest and land fires in the area have become a concern for the Commander of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya, Colonel Inf. Wahyu Ramadhanus Suryawan, S.Sos., M.M.S., M.Han., who conducted a direct inspection on Sunday (August 9, 2026).

Accompanied by the Commander of Kodim 0820/Probolinggo, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Ribut Yudo, the Danrem inspected the affected areas while monitoring the firefighting and mitigation efforts carried out by personnel in the field. The inspection was conducted to obtain a firsthand assessment of the latest situation and ensure that the response measures were being implemented optimally.

The Danrem emphasized that protecting the Bromo area is not merely a matter of extinguishing fires, but also of ensuring that the potential for future fires is minimized. Therefore, preventive measures through monitoring, preparedness, and strengthened public awareness and participation must continue to be reinforced.

“The Bromo area is an environmental asset and a national heritage that we must protect together. The response must be carried out swiftly, but prevention must also remain a priority so that incidents like this do not happen again,” said Colonel Inf. Wahyu Ramadhanus.

The Danrem expressed his appreciation to all personnel, particularly the Kodim 0820/Probolinggo personnel, who have demonstrated their readiness in assisting with the handling of the forest and land fires. According to him, field operations must continue to be carried out with a spirit of dedication and concern for environmental preservation.

Through the inspection, Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to address and prevent forest and land fires in the region. Keeping Bromo safe and sustainable is a shared responsibility so that this natural heritage can continue to be enjoyed by the community and preserved for future generations.
