Danrem 083/Bdj Leads Cross-Sector Coordination to Strengthen TNBTS Wildfire Response

 

Malang – Commander of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya, Colonel Inf. Wahyu Ramadhanus Suryawan, S.Sos., M.M.S., M.Han., directly monitored wildfire response efforts in the TNBTS area of Jemplang, Ngadas Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency, on Monday (September 14, 2026).

Danrem inspected wildfire-affected areas at Bukit Kentongan and Painem and monitored the surrounding conditions from Cafe Bromo Hillside. The visit was followed by a cross-sector coordination meeting involving Forkopimda elements and relevant agencies to strengthen the strategy for handling forest and land fires (Karhutla).

Danrem emphasized that successful wildfire management depends not only on firefighting efforts, but also on rapid detection, personnel readiness, effective coordination, and prevention measures

He expressed his appreciation for the synergy among all elements working in the field and called for lessons learned from the response to be used as evaluation material to improve the effectiveness of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Cooling operations and continuous monitoring must also be carried out to ensure that fire hotspots do not reappear.

“TNBTS is a national asset. Let us protect it together through synergy, preparedness, and shared concern,” Danrem stressed.
