Non-Physical TMMD Program Promotes Greening Along Riverbank in Maron District
Probolinggo, Monday, May 11, 2026 – As part of the Non-Physical Program of the 128th TMMD, Kodim 0820 Probolinggo held a symbolic planting of 200 hardwood and fruit tree seedlings. The activity took place along the riverbank near Dam 8 in Brabe Village, Maron District, Probolinggo Regency.
The tree planting was carried out as an effort to preserve the environment and prevent erosion around the river flow. This non-physical target is part of the TMMD program, which focuses not only on infrastructure development but also on environmental sustainability.
The activity involved TMMD Task Force personnel together with local residents. The seedlings planted consisted of hardwood trees and fruit-bearing plants, which are expected to provide long-term ecological and economic benefits.
Kapten Arh Murianto, who was assigned to lead the activity on-site, symbolically led the planting process. He stated that the initiative aims to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
“The planting of these 200 tree seedlings reflects our concern for preserving nature. We hope the community will care for them together so that future generations can benefit from them,” he said.
Residents of Brabe Village welcomed the activity, considering it beneficial for the surrounding environment. The tree planting is also expected to strengthen the riverbank’s function as a water absorption area.
The 128th TMMD Task Force of Kodim 0820 Probolinggo remains committed to completing all physical and non-physical targets according to schedule. The greening program serves as a tangible example of the Indonesian Army’s commitment to environmental care.
