Indonesian Army Expands Community Support in Alor with New Clean Water Facility Project
ALOR, East Nusa Tenggara — June 1, 2026 – The Indonesian Army's (TNI AD) Large-Scale Community Service Program (Karya Bhakti Skala Besar) in Alor Regency continues as a manifestation of the Army's commitment to addressing community needs. On Monday (June 1, 2026), a borewell drilling project was carried out in Kabola Village, Kabola District, Alor Regency, as part of the TNI AD Manunggal Air program.
The current phase of work involves pilot hole drilling, a process of creating a small-diameter borehole to collect soil and rock samples at various depths. This stage is intended to identify the geological formations beneath the surface and provide the necessary data for determining the next stages of drilling operations.
The activity involved two Indonesian Army personnel assigned to the Large-Scale Community Service Task Force, borewell workers, and Borewell Coordinator Sergeant Kiflin, who supervised the work on-site. The entire operation proceeded safely, orderly, and according to the established plan.
The borewell construction program initiated by the Indonesian Army is one of its tangible efforts to help communities gain access to clean water. The facility is expected to alleviate difficulties faced by residents, particularly in areas that have long experienced limited water resources, are prone to drought, or require adequate clean water infrastructure.
The Commander of Kodim 1622/Alor stated that the TNI AD Manunggal Air program is not only aimed at providing access to clean water but also at supporting public health improvement, encouraging economic growth and food security, and strengthening the bond between the Indonesian Army and the people. Through this Community Service Program, the Indonesian Army continues to demonstrate its commitment to being present and contributing to the welfare of communities throughout Alor Regency.
