TNI and Local Government Empower Farmers Through Seed Distribution Program in Probolinggo

 

Probolinggo, Saturday (16/5) – In support of the 128th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Program for Fiscal Year 2026, Kodim 0820/Probolinggo together with related agencies distributed avocado and corn seedlings to residents of Brabe Village, Maron District, Probolinggo Regency.

The activity, which began at 09.00 WIB until completion, took place at Cafe Dan 8 in Brabe Village and was enthusiastically welcomed by local residents. During the event, a total of 900 avocado seedlings and 150 kilograms of corn seeds were distributed to support food security and improve the welfare of local farmers.

The assistance was handed over by the Head of Agriculture Division of Probolinggo Regency, Mr. Fajar Rahadian, STP., MM, representing the Head of the Agriculture Office, accompanied by the Secretary of Maron District, Mr. Wawas Arif, representing the Head of Maron District, Brabe Village Babinsa Sgt. Rustam representing Danramil 0820/21 Maron, and Brabe Village Head Mr. Sunardi.

The seedlings were directly received by Mr. Akbar (35), a farmer from Brabe Village, and Mr. Feri (30) as a representative of the local plantation community group.

In his remarks, Mr. Fajar Rahadian stated that the assistance is expected to increase the productivity of local agriculture while also strengthening the synergy between the regional government, the Indonesian Army, and the community in supporting the national food security program.

“Through the TMMD program, not only physical infrastructure development is carried out, but also community empowerment through the agricultural sector. We hope the seedlings provided will be properly maintained and bring economic benefits to residents,” he said.

Meanwhile, Brabe Village Babinsa Sgt. Rustam explained that the TMMD program is a concrete manifestation of the unity between the TNI and the people in accelerating rural development, including supporting the agricultural and plantation sectors of the community.

The activity ran in an orderly, safe, and harmonious atmosphere. Residents who received the assistance expressed their gratitude for the attention and support provided through the 128th TMMD Program in Brabe Village. (*)
